Historic Downtown Neighborhood of Asheville, NC
Nestled between Biltmore Village on the south and downtown Asheville to the north, Kenilworth has long been a prestigious historic residential district in the Asheville area. Established in the 1920’s this area was used for a recreational destination around the Kenilworth Inn complete with a 19 acre lake. Lake Kenilworth and Kenilworth Park are still a central draw to this area, providing beautiful views and a peaceful oasis for wildlife that can be enjoyed by residents.
You’ll find numerous exhibits of architecture from the 1920s along tranquil tree-lined streets. Gems of the Spanish Colonial Revival, Tudor, and Prairie styles are evident throughout this neighborhood.
The Kenilworth neighborhood is also very close to Asheville’s largest employers, including Mission Hospital. Just minutes away from the Biltmore House, you can enjoy the area’s greatest attraction as well as walk along the streets of the Biltmore Village area exploring fine dining options and shopping high-end shops.
